Pomarine Jaeger

The following photos are of a single immature Pomarine Jaeger observed 3.5 miles offshore Vermilion, Ohio, October 29th, 2011 on the Local Patch Birding pelagic. Photos copyright Laura Keene. CLICK ON PHOTOS TO VIEW FULL-SIZE.

The overall sheer bulk of the bird, broad-based wings, massive bill, and double-flash on the underwing are indicative of Pomarine.
