Conneaut hopping

Bob and Denise Lane had at least 12 species of shorebirds at Conneaut between morning and 2 pm today, including Red-necked Phalarope, Western Sandpipers and four Red Knots. Several hundred Semipalmated Sandpipers were present as well as two Least Bitterns. Today’s consistent rains clearly pushed shorebirds down and to the flats, a classic weather phenomenon in the spring.
