Headlands lake watch

This morning (Wed) Jerry Talkington had 2,000 Horned Grebes, an Eared Grebe, one Red-throated Loon, and 100+ Common Loons from Headlands BSP.

Strong south winds are bringing Cave Swallows to the Great Lakes, with three seen at Lake Erie Metropark hawk watch on Monday and one seen today at Tiscornia Beach, SW Michigan.

Winds are predicted to hold strong (15+mph) from the WSW tomorrow and Friday. Even though there is no northerly component, there could still be a fair to good movement of birds along the lake because of the west-based winds.
